    Gauleiter Carl Rover medallion..?

Have acquired a 'unique' medallion app 30mm diameter, magnetic, back maker mark of A.G.B.H. Salzgitter, front has effigy of Carl Rover and around the outer portion, Gauleiter Carl Rover, (died) 15.5.1942.
From the net, some good information on his career, disagreements with Goering and Bormann (and ideas he was killed by Nazi agents of Bormann's, and not by a stroke)...anyway, has anyone ever seen one of these and what might be the value of something like this...has been properly punched to accept a ring/ribbon...?...not drilled...if I could figure out how to add pics.... .... appreciate all your comments..

Commemorative medals and non-portable "table medals" were "common".... as a form of recognition, in memorium, in commeration, in rememberance, etc. Never heard of this one AFAIK.

Being for a Gauleiter certianly makes it "special"....how special, we need those photos....

            Pink,
No question it's legit....the "hole" seems wierd, out of place....but I've seen several similiar medallions or plaques with "holes"....possibly to be "nailed/scewed" to a mantel, post, or display board....(?).... (you'd think they'd just be boxed!)

Two quick points... 1942 dated & made of "kriegsmetal", and makers mark on the reverse ....I have a "workers" badge from that company which I didn't know who it was... thanks for IDing the name.

Certianly a rare Gauleiter related medallion.... visually not the most "striking", but "to the right guy"....very special.

Thanks Maine...the medallion is magnetic, presuming steel as the maker is on the web as still being a steel manufacturer.....wondered about the hole as well, but it is purposefully 'press punched' and not a drilled effort....it is in the 12/6 position if looking at the death dates as a centerpoint...appreciate your reply...looking at the history of the Gauleiter, he was held in high regard with Hitler actually attending his funeral (not something he did with the deaths of other Leiters)...thanks again....
