Hand-embroidered cuff-title: 'Segelflugzeugführer': what is it?

    Dear all,

Did anyone of you ever saw a piece like this? It concerns a neat hand-embroidered cuff-title, entitled: 'Segelflugzeugführer', which is beautifully executed in hand-embroidered braid on a black (linnen-based) background. It was clearly used and worn and still shows the stitching-remains of having been tunic-removed.

I obtained it some months ago and I have actually never seen one before. The piece is 100% period and came from a reliable source....but what is it?

My best guess would be that it is a 'Flieger-HJ' related cuff-title...but I am not sure nor can I find any reference for such a cuff-title... so what are your opinions ie. who can help me out?

Thanks for your help and assistance!

    Best regards,

    Coco
