And if the granddaughter of the vet can't find the gorget itself, here's a suggestion: Pete Whamond of The Collector's Guild is currently offering a beautiful PL gorget with it's original case -- and without a chain -- that you may be interested in. (I'd love to have the case for my own example of the PL gorget, but my piece is otherwise complete and in excellent condition...but I'd still love to have that case!)
