As these competitions became more popular and more people participated, you would think the earliest badges would be the scarcest and the latter badges the most common, yet it is the opposite. The 1934 and 1935 are pretty common and easily had while the others are scarce, not often offered and command a premium price way beyond what the first two years command. Any thoughts why this might be the case?

It is obvious as time went on, more money was spent to make better looking badges made of finer materials and workmanship. Since the competition was held again in 1944 at the Gau and Reich levels, has anyone seen a participants badge for this year?

now that is a good question, was there ever a particpient badge for the 44 games, i think probably not mainly because by then germany was struggling, if you remember they stopped the kreissieger for 1944 too so seems to make sense that they would not bother with a participent badge either, but who knows iv'e never seen or heard of one
