    NSDAP Tunic

Hello, I bought this NSDAP tunic earlier this year, and I was just looking for some advice on how to restore (or just take off) the collar tabs without ruining the wool. They are glued on and I really want to make this tunic look nice for my display. I can't post pictures because my camera is broken and my phone doesn't connect to the computer. Here is the website and link to the tunic. (http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Polit...s/N003568.html). Thank you!

Too bad that someone went to the effort of replacing the tabs by gluing others onto the lapels! If this piece ever left the manufacturer's shop, the first owner would have added the proper tabs and brassard. I also think the buttons are replacements; I believe the original 1939 series of PL tunics used the same gilt buttons with eagle and swaz that were used on the previous series' of the PL tunic.

I'm pretty sure that the buttons are original to the tunic. They have a RZM circle on the back of the smaller buttons. The stitching also looks to be original to the tunic. I've seen some other tunics with buttons like this, but not many.
