        Tab

It depends on the period. If it's 1933-1938 period, the shoulderboard would consist of 4 rows of green/white piping on an emerald green base. The collar would have green/white twist piping. Shoulderboard worn only on right shoulder on both brownshirt and tunic. Tab litzen - white/green.*********Post 1938-1939, the shoulderboard would be the 2nd pattern, with brown and silver cords. The shoulderboard underlay would be in the color of his specialty (Foot SA - Light Grey, Signals - Lemon Yellow, etc.) The collar piping would be brown with silver flecks or strands , or more likely, there'd be no collar piping at all. Buttons from both periods would be silver. Tab litze is white/green. Right shoulderboard only on brownshirt, 2 shoulderboards worn on tunic. Post pic of tab - ok?

          Shoulderboard

PS: Pre 1933 - No shoulderboards were worn.

            Thanks for this important info

heres photos of my SA boards , my man was a Rottenfuhrer in the SA from 1936-1945, but not exactly sure yet of which branch he belonged to, need to do more research.

Agree with all except the wartime tab Litze would be white brown white. And the boards are those for SA foot units used from 1939-45.

                  Litze

Erich is correct. My bad. For some reason, you hardly ever see tabs with the later brown/white litze.

                      Sachsen

That's what we're here for. I've had a lot of hands-on with SA wool, and the others on WA Forum like Laurens, Luftwaffe Blue, Br. James, etc., (sorry if I left anyone out), are the top experts in the field. And it's all FREE!! No one knows everything - we;re ALL learning!!
