    An Interesting Clock

Not really sure where to post this....I was at a local antiques fair ( not a militaria fair ) earlier today and saw this fascinating clock, I would have bought it in an instant, as I like Art Deco period clocks, if it had not been rather expensive at £500. The movement inside is the standard French made type of the period. Unfortunately there was no history with the clock.
Has anyone seen anyting like this before??? I assume it has an early TR connection??

I can't testify as to originality but I personally like it!

That is a tricky piece and for the price I might have walked away from it personally.

There are still fine unknown pieces of NS history out there, no question - and this clock could be one of them.

I would like to see it from back and inside which probably is not possible.

So far I like what I see.

If you see a trophy base on any Reich piece you better take cover. Is the pendulum pressed paper?. If you removed the sun wheel and look at the base and the marble and even the Adler it screams 1950+. I think its doctored.

Found the clock and made by Decoux and originally part of a setting, early piece eagle slightly different and not a trophy base. It is most likely doctored however and probably later there are photos on the web.

It is a 30's to 40's period piece. I like the construction and overall appearance.

                      Ed,

Apparently made into the 60's though and all having a different pendulum, maybe that is the issue seeing that the marble has zero age.

All I know is that all my French made clocks show no wear to the marble and I bought and sold quite a few over the years. If you look close there are some small marks or chips here and there to the marble , also I'm seeing light corrosion to the chrome plating. JMO.

Well, with a proper pendulum these are not cheap either. Not sure where you would find that and without the clock no where to go.

                            Clock

Unless Decoux was a company with Nazi sympathies, it's been embellished. I've seen the same style clock, but with a plain pendulum that was not round - but pointed.
