I would say that if you flipped the brass over, there is going to be someones initials, Probably not "AH"

There are many questions here, Lulum. Is the seller doing so with the understanding that this box and perhaps its contents once belonged to Hitler? If so, then the primary question is whether there is any provenance or documentation offered with this piece that established the veracity of such a claim. Hitler received almost countless gifts during his short span of leadership, and cutlery sets were certainly among those gifts, as were place settings and all manner of other metalware, handcrafts, foodstuffs, etc. Another observation is that the cutlery set here does not match the size of the case; it clearly does not belong in this case. Are there any marks on the cutlery handles -- engraved initials, etc.? Also, it does not appear that the cutlery pieces are a matched set to each other...

So many questions! And with all such gift items supposedly once given to Hitler, it is the presence or the absence of provenance that makes or breaks the deal! IMO, of course!
