A Party badge and another one

    Gentlemen

These came from a local auction house mixed up with a lot of fakes.

First question - the the Party badge a fake too? Maker marked M1/129. I'm not surprised if it is. The M looks like the MacD arches.

And what is the other? A total fantasy?? It is maker marked M1/4

Many thanks for your comments and observations

    James

    Badges.

Hi James, the two Badges are Repros iMO. The M/129 is not a legit RZM.
And these pins can usually be found with a coffin shaped pin plate on the reverse.
The number and hardware spells reproduction, so be wary of any others that fall into these parameters.

out of interest does the "other one" exist in real life and what is it for?

          Thanks

Yes, it existed....it's a "sympathizers" enamel pin. Also similiar enamel pins "Deutschland Erwachte"; "Heil Hitler"; "Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Fuhrer"; and "Adolf Hitler 1933"....(See Handbuck der Abzeichen deutscher Organisationen 1871-1945 by Heering/Husken Pg. 253).

I would imagine these "stopped" being used/made after the RZM came into existance as they are too close to the "Party Membership badge".

            and yes....all are extensively reproduced.

Hi Mainemilitaria, this badge you quote above, is a complete fantasy invention, no originals are known. Yes it is in the book you go on to mention by Hüsken, then again, so are at least, 20 other fantasy badges :-)

I bow to you're expertise.....I knew there were a few "ringers" in the book....but not necessarily "this one".....(would have thought it possible being pre-RZM controls....but no need defending a recognized fantasy).

                Appreciate the correction
