    Hi Udo,

I can't see anything wrong with this piece; did the person offering it to you as a 'fake' give any reason for thinking so?

I guess the reason for this statement was lack of knowledge on his site

I was pretty sure it is a good one...

I did some more research, a significant difference to any good badge is the slash within the maker mark. It look too long.
I marked it in this photo, above is the mm I found on good ones.

Or did Brehmer use 2 different dies with different mm?

          Thanks for comments!

I'm no big fan of this badge. Frontal details look rather soft and do I see some pitting in the right arrow arm?

My numbered example has the shorter slash between the 1 and 101.

I also would pass because of its frontal condition.

            Regards, Wim

Does it matter if the RZM markings are raised or indented?

As far as I know it was always raised. On some pictures it looks endented but that's an optical illusion IMO.

The example of this badge in my collection includes Brehmer's RZM license number raised. I still like this piece...

This badge is most likely a reproduction as advertised. I have never seen a genuine badge where the "L" in Leistungen is this short. Genuine awards have the vertical portion of the "L" long enough so it touches the outer rim of the circle which contains the lettering. There are other issues with the badge including the RZM and the concentric circles around it. I wouldn't want this badge in my collection.

Also the shape of the pin is different plus the C catch...
