hello ALL Collecters-

Due to the shear volume of Fakes,forgeries and non period plaques that are popping up in all areas of german militaria ,

I thought a thread /data base for those collecters who are in the process of buying would be a great idea ,

it would help many of us new collecters--

I ask that ALL who have bought plaques take photos of the reverse of it and the hanging mechainism and also a brief discription of the front of the plaque-

so we know of the fakes--

Please don't take this wrong, i like your idea, but have also learned over the past few years that some of the best topics on various forums were very usefull for the fakers.

Wouldn't it be better for you to study known originals of certain plaques you are interested in to buy first, and than make a well thought over purchase of a certain plaque based on your own personal study of originals? Fakers often don't go this far and i would probably be better not to educate them further?
