        Can't comment on originality but I will say that I would have bought it.

          Hi Eric,

          Sure wish I knew where those 'weeds' were!! Most anything associated with the American Bund Movement is rare these days; the Bundists went far underground once the Bund was made illegal in 1941, and they either took all of their mementos with them or they destroyed them. This piece is from the last incarnation of the movement, as indicated by the "AV" at the base of the swaz; this stood for Amerikadeutscher Volksbund as the movement was called during 1936-41 when Fritz Kuhn was the Bundesleiter. The logo design predated Kuhn's leadership; it was created for the movement when it was named the League of the Friends of the New Germany (Bund der Freunde des Neuen Deutschland) in 1933-35 and led by Bundesleiter Heinz Spanknöbel. That first logo design included the letters "FDND" at the base of the deco swaz. Indeed a great addition to anyone's Bund collection! Cheers,
