National Prize for Art and Science

Hi friends, what's your opinion about this Nation Prize for Art and Science?
It is for sure a postwar piece - maybe made by Souval?

    Thank you very much, Michael

    Hi,

    This is a terrible copy.

No idea who made this but i think that Souval would be ashamed to make something this bad.

    best regards,
    Gaston

      no Souval

As pointed out by Gaston above it is no Souval. Even though they made a post war knock-off of the real thing it was still miles ahead of what's pictured above. I believe a member here owns a Souval copy. Maybe he can post it?
      cheers
      Matt

              Thank you very much guys.
I really would like to see pictures of a R.S. postwar copy.

Thank you very much again, Michael

I say there is a possibility this was sold by Souval. I'm familiar with the high class Arts&Science Nationalprize award that Souval sold in the 1950's.
Altough this award is different in design, one has to be aware that Souval offered the Arts&Science Nationalprize atleast up until 1986 !
Anyone familiar with the quality of late Souval products would know, that there is no way he would be still cranking out the same high quality decorations as in his early years.
Same with German Eagle Order Stars. The design on them changed too over the years.

The posted piece is a currently made item from Eastern Europe. It has nothing to do with Souval.

Why would this one be real? Please explain?

I think the one that started this topic shows a (terrible) cast of the reverse of an original, and that looks quite different from this "original" one?

Maybe Bob can say someting about this because if im not mistaken he has one in his collection?

                    best regards,
                    Gaston
