    Ground-dug visor eagle - what for?

    Any ideas what organisation?

    To me it looks like the smaller size "Admin" (beamte) style eagle in aluminum worn by Post Office. Same style eagle also worn by other government uniformed agencies (Reichforstbeamt, Tramway, elevator operators, Luft firefighters, Customs admin etc)

    They exist in 3 different sizes (yours looks like smallest one), in gold and silver and in a variety of metals and design/die variations depending on period of manufacture and maker. I have attached a pict showing the 2 larger sizes of the same bird as yours

        Jean-Claude is correct. But the one that Patrick posted is more rare. The type of pin fittings is slightly unusual with a more than 2-pin structure. (Most common ones have only two pins on the left and right wings.)
