Its an original, and solid proof of the solid red enameled backround. This design may have been fairly early I suspect, and then changed to reflect the more transparent red enamel. Should be posted to the party pin thread for comments by james noble.(I am positive those comments will be highly favorable)
    heres the thread:http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=party+pin

Now we need to have someone post an M1/42 with the other type red enamel and then that will substantiate my suspicions that 42 company made both types. Makes me wanna click my heels together three times and end up in kansas wandering around looking for one .

WELL SPEAK OF THE DEVIL! fell into the trap I did..again....Many think this type of round attachment were all fakes....well here's more proof they are found on fakes and originals. (no cut out center part). Very nice ....mr noble will also appreciate both of these fine examples for the data base.

            Solid Proof?

Sorry, but this has made my week

About a year ago, when i had finished with the book, i had a horrible gut feeling that by the time it was actually printed, most of what i had "dissected, studied and researched" would be outdated, or possibly even known to all by then.

Reading this thread makes me happy though Both badges are genuine, yet the thoughts, info, or Solid Proof opinions by juoneen, are completely wrong!

Ok, you have the right to your opinion, (wrong about what)I have never said I was never wrong, and someday even your periodical may prove to have inaccuracies , as all have since being published in some aspect or another, no matter who the authors were, or are presently. Please enlighten us /me ,as to my inaccuracy , and please correct me as to the specifics of my wrongdom regarding my thoughts, info, and "solid proof" comment ,as these are my own , as to what your specific thoughts are that makes mine wrong , I am sincerely interested to hear your rebuttal .

And to address Ron R, Ron, can you relate if any of these badges have any provenance from vets or their familys, or are they show find flea market finds or ??.

Back In the 60's and until sometime after the advent of the PC ,in homes and the formation of the first forums after the year 2000....we all thought L/58's were all fakes, pin catches like on Rons second badge were all fakes, solid red backrounds on party badges were all fakes, but with many new discoverys, we have found we were all wrong about many things . There were L/58 fakes, and originals marked L/58, there were fake solid red backround party badges , and originals brought back thought to be fakes, but were actually originals, and many originals were sold or destroyed by opinions , where certain dominat folks in the hobby thought they knew everything and we were wrong to laud them thinking they did, and later we found out that wasn't true either later down the road after they were found to be just as infallible as everyone else, through dealer misinformation based soley on greed, and EGO. Changes have proven many things to be wrong thought otherwise to be right, and vice versey, and with proofs ,such as photo proof, and provenanc'd things found in vets posessions things have changed the playing field , hit me with your best shot .
