    Army Soldier Head Bust

To the collectors who collect these, I would like your opinions, good or bad. A very heavy piece. Thanks for your time, Ralph

Personally, I don't like it..... the obvious 1939 Iron Cross on the base is NOT typical and way "overkill"......the casting looks pretty good, but that's the easy part..... the typical overly done Army Eagle also looks "Eastern European" to say the least....

Without more information or genuine provenance, I wouldn't risk more than "display" money for this....

Thanks for your reply, I have had this piece over 40 years and the overkill cross is my addition.

No question that it is an original bust (without the EK, as noted)!

By "regulation" you are correct, however, I believe this particular bust is an example of the manufacturer's use of what can be called"artistic license".

Regardless, this bust is a white metal/spelter example of the untold thousands made prior to May of 1945 and used for various awards, recognition and decorative purposes.

                Looks OK to me.

I have a similar one but without the helmet badges, possibly the same maker, mine just a bit earlier?

Mine is dated on the dedication 1935.
