I know nothing about these, but from the other thread I see that

      - only a few found in Poland (which is ok if only intended for there)
      - all but one corroded to about the same extent, perhaps buried by the group at the end of the war, or the fakers at the same time
      - there is only one photo of it in wear, so perhaps photoshopped for the (faking) occasion or an award for particular service rather than a "German person" identification badge, or who knows.

It could be a very interesting original that only a few people were awarded, or a fake with a small run or anything really.

Hopefully some knowledgeable people will be able to throw some light on it.

Neat Volkdeutsche pin apparently issued in Poland to Poles of German ancestry, and the surviving examples all ground dug which is understandable...
These obviously got chucked post war by the owners...considered collaboration insignia no doubt.
Another likely scenario: Most volksdeutschen got ejected from their properties and deported to Germany. I can imagine such lapel insignia being forcefully ripped from their collar lapels and tossed while confronted by Poles during their trek West in 1945 on their way to resettlement in post war Germany...
And found decades later in the ground...
The period image of one in wear looks authentic to me, the owner not wanting to
reveal the entire image because it shows family members...Probably many pictures
showing this lapel pin were destroyed as well...so little documentation survived,
        But I am a believer

IMO original pin denoting a Volskdeutsche Status from Gau Pommern region. Gau Warthe had a pin with the same purpose discussed elsewhere on this forum.

I am surprised that nothing has surfaced from Gau West Preussen of similar purpose as Greiser and Forster seemed to have a competition going to out-do one another and show whos region was more impressively run.
Or maybe we simply have not stumbled upon it yet or have been misidentify another pin? I know I have a finalist or two in mind...

          cheers
          Matt

It doesn't appear to have been photoshopped into the image.
