Hi Ron,

HJ is not one of my focuses in study and collecting, so it's nice to see a piece like this poletop which is not of the standard bayonet design. Was this top used for specific/particular banners? Very nice design.

This style was used primarily for the Bannfahne and Jungbannfahne of which there were only one example of each used in the Bann. The bayonet style were used primarily for the Gefolgschaftsfahne and Fahnlienfahne, where there were many examples depending upon the size of the Bann. I've seen some exceptions to this in period photos but primary use was for the Bannfahne. This type is more difficult to find and commands a much higher price when offered.

Ron , abused or not ... that is a very nice pole top! I know it has been said before and I'm going to ask again ... is there anything you do not have in your collection ! .
