"Erbhof" group, very interesting, one of the very few originals

    Hi,

these shields are heavily faked, I´ve got this original one together with its VERY rare document from the German district court, where the rights on the farm were documented and given to the owners.

Very nice and the first time that I have seen the documents. I have an original plaque in my collection as well and yes there are fakes out there. These plaques should have threaded attaching holes on the reverse.

Most of them were destroyed by the farmes before Germany was occupied by allied soldiers. And the "Erbhöferolle" document is also for me the first I saw and even heard about...

            Hi,

I have never seen this document before!
Was offered a sign several years ago in Germany, which I thought was a fake.
Unfortunately, I did not take a photograph, but from memory I remember that it was solid; not hollow-backed - and weighed qiute heavily.
Turned it down due to the weight, and the "made last week" look!
            Glad I did!

            Very best wishes,

            John.

I have bought this one from the e-stand and I am concerned about the remarks of this item being faked. So what about this example ?

My thought is that there was more than one maker of these plaques. My example has a number 1 and also the letter R inside the Hagal rune on the reverse. I thinking that they are possibly foundry markings.
