DJ Shooting Badge

Younger members of the DJ (under the age of 14) could compete for the DJ Shooting badge.

These boys used an air rifle and not a .22 caliber rifle for qualification.

The badge was to be worn on the left breast pocket.

This badge was made by Deschler & Sohn, Munchen.

I´ve read about this badge in several reference books. Everyone gives a diferent age to be eligible: 10 years old, 12, or 14
Do you know exactly what is the right age to be ?

"DJ" lasted from 10. - 14th year. In these 4 years the "Pimpf" should be trained for qualifying for the "DJ-Leistungsabzeichen". Because of that training I don't think, that it was possible to qualify for the "DJ-shooting" - badge before the age of 12... Maybe another member here does know this for sure.

12 is correct as Peter says. From age 14 DJ leaders shot for the equivalent HJ shooting badge.
