Thanks very much for all the comments and especially to those who have provided so much help with deciphering some of the old German script. Tonight we leap forward to 1936 with a letter from the NSDAP Gauleitung Süd-Hannover-Braunschweig. It appears Könnecke may have applied for some type of honor badge (GPB? Gau Ehrenzeichen?).
It is from the department of the Kreis advisor for honor badge wearers. I can't make out the signature to tell if it is anyone of significance, but here is the translation:
Pg. Hans Könnecke
Braunschweig
Schleinitzstr. 1a
Enclosed I am returning to you the letter that was submitted to me. I have taken the necessary steps and have confidence that the matter will go well.
Took a couple of days off from posting to catch my breath. Here are a few more items from the set that are from later in Könnecke's involvement with the party. One is an NSKK magazine. Not sure why he would have saved this one. I tried to browse through it but didn't find anything noteworthy about Braunschweig or with his name.
The second is a letter from the office of the deputy (Stellvertreter) of the Führer (a position held, until his ill fated flight to England, by Rudolf Hess).
The letter reads:
Re: Your petition of September 24, 1937
Your writing from September 24, 1937 has been sent to me for further review by the Gauleitung Süd Hannover-Braunschweig of the NSDAP, Kreis Braunschweig Stadt. Because the Reichsschatzmeister (Reichs Treasurer), in the division of the department for membership, Munich Arcisstr. 10 is responsible in your matter, I have forwarded your petition to this location for finalization.
You will receive further news from there.
Heil Hitler!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Not sure who signed this but it definitely wasn't Hess.
The last couple of letters sure seem to indicate he was trying to get one. Nothing points to the fact that he was successful. Interesting that someone who was in contact with so many important people in the early days never managed to move forward in the Party.

Erich, thanks very much for the help. Unfortunately not much is out there about anyone named Kuhlmann, so it may remain a mystery as to who he is. Sad to say but someone was able to start to cherry pick this set before I found it and here is one of the items that got away. It is a letter from Himmler providing his speech schedules dated October 26, 1927.
It states:
Propaganda Division
Kurt Könnecke
Dear honored Pg. Könnecke!
In answer to your writing of the 24th of the month I wish to inform you that I have already notified the Gauleitung Hannover of my assembly days. I am speaking:
Thursday the 10th, Friday the 11th, Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of November, on this last day afternoon and evening, in the Braunschweiger election.
Thanks to all who have posted and have helped decipher some of those things I could not. This lot makes much more sense and is probably the most significant paper lot in my small political collection. There are some more items that were removed from the lot prior to my being able to acquire it and those, unfortunately, have virtually no way to be retrieved. I am glad I was able to preserve the majority as one lot. If anyone should run across any information on Pg. Könnecke, I would appreciate anything that would help to determine more about him and what eventually happened to him.
