The eagle is the version as used until 1937 and in fact was in use for a very short period of time only. The stand for the head changed into looking to its left wing in the course of 1936 and as such was in use through the years into the war. This one looks to its right wing, so is not the later type as in use during the war, but the earliest cloth version.
Transportation formations during the war practically always did wear two shoulder-boards, this in contrary to the German homeland units. This is specified by an order from Hühnlein from November 1940. The wearing of two was pure according the military style; the wearing of one was political and based upon traditional grounds (SA)!Last edited by wilhelm Saris; 04-19-2013, 04:56 AM.
