it is interesting to note that between the two manufacturers increase the size of the gorget is not the same

Yes, that is interesting, Gerome. I didn't notice it from your original photo because the articles photographed extended beyond the borders of the frame. Surely there must have been RZM standards observed by the gorget manufacturers, though I would suspect that most collectors only add one gorget from a given group to their collections, thereby never noticing any difference in dimensions. I only have one PL Gorget, for example; it was made by the firm of Eugen Schmidhäussler of Pforzheim and it measures 9" wide and 4½” tall. I wonder if gorgets representing other organizations also varied in size from maker to maker? Yes, very interesting!

i have noticed a slight size difference in pl gorgets over the years ,also a difference in the nskov types.i have always attributed it a mfg. variation,great looking pl items,doesn't get any better than that...........dave
