    Hi Rick

I dont know if its original or not so wait for more opinions but the shape/style reminds me of the tropen helm (pith helmet) parade eagle however, my late zink specimen has 1 strudy vertical clip not folding clips like yours

    Regards

    JC

Judging by the construction and design, it's not original.

Mine is the same as the KWM tropenhelm parade adler that Ron posted and that is the pattern most of us are familiar with but to me the design/style of your bird is not as "off the wall" as it would appear...

Attached scan is of an early Assmann catalogue page showing (enhanced) pictures of both their Luft & Heer/KM Parade helm adlers. Even though different from yours, the bird style and proportions are similar ...

              Rick,

The one that you posted is a reproduction.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it came in with a few other original items so I wasn't sure, it will be off the the junk pile now,
                cheers,
                Rick
