it has potential to be a fine one without a number. They appear sometimes. To be sure we should have better/larger reverse pics.
From what I see I like it.

I have no problem with it- it looks like a fine original. If it was numbered, it would almost certainly be in the 3000 range unless it was a replacement for an earlier issued one,

Further to Eric's and colleagues comments I would like to add that not often seen and rare do not always = desirable . Although rarely seen I would not class an un numbered blood order as particularly desirable , and certainly less monetory value, due to the lack of attributation or indeed future hope of such. Looking forward to review the pics later.Comment

Welcome among us! I must agree with Jon's last note: while Second Issue Blood Orders are often difficult to attribute, given that the scant lists of numbers/names identified in the series above #1500 are a reality, at least there is a starting-point as well as the hope of eventually attaching a name to a Second Issue numbered medal. But with unnumbered BOs, there is no chance of ever knowing who such a rare piece was issued to...save for the presence of any notarized attestation or other documentation that would establish the original holder of that award. If you have such documentation, that should add immensely to the value of the piece, but if not...

Some of these unnumbered 2nd pattern BOs were purchased as extras by 1st pattern holders as evidenced by the Hermann Fobke tunic which had an unnumbered BO attached when found. I beg to differ with the opinions that a Blood Order without a number is less desirable than a numbered one and having a less monetary value.
Quite the contrary in my opinion: Outside in the collections there are a lot of numbered second types without any name or attributaion or documentation. But you will just find a few ones without number in the world.
If you have more than one Blood Order or e.g. a first and a second type such an unnumbered one is highly desirable to me as another variant.
I got mine with a second type one and to me it was obvious that the recipient bought a second exemplar from Schmidthäussler .
That´s simply my opinion: Suum quique ...
