    Frontbann badge

Been after this one for a while and not having much luck finding one, thinking about biting the bullet and getting it from the dealers. Before I pull the trigger I would like to solicit your opinions on this piece. Have at it Gents..
    Thanks in advance,
    cheers

I would stick to the ZM Ost ones, but its debatable.
The later versions have RZM stamped and I think only 2 companies made them.

      Matt,

I would pass and not consider the Weitze example. The details are too soft and seemingly as though it has been refinished or some problem on the front.

Although there are other makers such as '21' & '63' and others, myself I prefer the earlier pre maker marked and pre RZM examples with much detail.

Below is my early pre RZM example in a stick pin mount which I believe was one of the earliest types which you can see the detail.

As I say, I wouldn't consider the Weitze piece under any circumstances.

      Regards, John

And that is the reason why the badge (or all 3) still resides with Weitze. Too bad, was really hoping to add one to my collection. I thank you and others behind the scenes for your learned opinions. The search continues..

Yes, that one from Weitze does lack detail and as we all know, the devil's in the detail....

I know that unmarked ones as presumably pre-1933, but I would never swop my "63" made by Steinhauer and Luck for an unmarked piece.

Just to compliment the super "63" from Stan, here is my "21" - Paul Meybauer, Berlin - Waidmannslust.

The 63 and 21 are both truly rare beautiful badges to behold.

Perhaps sometime I'll be so fortunate.

David, I never tire of looking at that one

                  Here's another useful thread:http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=frontbann

I bought my Frontbann in 2002 and the cost was €550 which I didn't consider too expensive for a nicely mm'd piece.

                      S+l?

How about this one? To my untrained eye it looks like it could be an unmarked example from S&L?
                      Thanks for your help.

Saw it too, a while ago. Made up my mind to wait for a marked one instead.

                          SL or NOT?

But is it or is it not a accepted example of a unmarked S&L? Anyone has one in hand to compare?
                          cheers
