    SA tunic for discussion

A fellow was selling a ton of re-enacting pieces but this one I think is real.

Any thoughts on value or originality?

I know the KC is bad but what of the tunic and patches?

Agree--the kepi sitting on the SA shirt is fake, and the SS shirt is a complete fake, but the SA shirt with insignia looks fine.

I agree with Sean and Erich as to the 2nd shirt, and I also agree with Erich that the kepi with the 1st shirt is modern. I am also wondering whether all the parts on the 1st shirt belong together? While I think the collar tabs and the shoulder strap of an SA-Rottenführer appear genuine to the 1933 SA uniform code, I think the piped collar of the shirt indicates the rank of SA-Sturmführer to SA-Sturmhauptführer, which were ranks senior to that of the tabs and shoulder strap. In other words, this looks to me to be a 'messed-with' SA Traditions Brown Shirt rig. Lets see what others think!

The collar piping is correct for this vintage shirt--it was worn by all ranks up through Sturmhauptführer.

Thanks for your response, Erich. I recall seeing a chart that showed that the SA enlisted ranks from SA-Mann up through SA-Obertruppführer wore no piping on either their patches or their collars; guess my memory (like so much else) is failing me! Thanks again,

The armband on the SA shirt is certainly original, at least.

Thanks to you, Wewelsburg. Every day is a good day to learn or to correct a misunderstanding here on WAF!

                        Hello,

I have received quite a few notes on this SA shirt and Id like to get a good idea as far as pricing.

Ill send pics of the party pin but I think it’s an original pin. (Ill post pics tonight)

Considering the insignia, jacket, belt and buckle what would yall think is a fair selling price from a collector (not dealer)

                        $500-600?? Less?

Thanks for any guidance since uniforms are not my thing.
