Did the collar tabs of SA wehrmannschaften other ranks have the standarte and gruppe number on them? And can anyone suggest if there are any books written on the subject of SA Wehrmannschaften uniforms.

The Wehrmannschaften wore collar tabs in the color of their SA Gruppe. Collar tab piping was only worn by Sturmfuhrer and above, but photos show enlisted men wearing what appears to be tab piping same as post-1940 SA enlisted wore. According to Angolia's book, the right tab had a chain-stitched Sturm number. Ranks of Standartenfuhrer wore a small metal letter. The left collar patch is blank for all enlisted ranks, with rank pips being used on the 2 shoulder straps, but photographic evidence shows enlisted men wearing collar tab pips, and no shoulder straps. Confusing, huh?
