I read "Extra Fein" and probably the size or the makers mark

Original button, I have one in grey metal somewhere.
Who or what used them is still a question...

I believe Extra Fein produced a variety of shank buttons like this. Does anyone have a copy of their catalog for reference?

I have some Ex Fein buttons also. But mine are use as cufflinks..
IF you go to GDCs cufflinks topic and go to page 4 you'll see a good photo of them.
                    - mine [total of 4 ] seem to be of a high quality, multi piece, extra polished, well marked.
