I recently listed the sports shirt on the estand and I was promptly snatched up by an eager sport clothing specialist here among us. After it was paid, but before I shipped it I was kindly asked to black light the item which I promptly did. To my surprise and disappointment (both me and the buyer) the shirt insignia reacted to UV, but the shirt did not. This ruled out the postwar laundering scenario and put the insignia in the probable if not certain reproduction category.
