cased NS winner medal in gold, Reichsparteitag 1937

please have a look on this nice gold medal in a matching case.
The gold colour is very nice. Unfortunately the pics donĀ“t show the nice gold colour.
    What do you think about?
What is a fair price for it?

WOW! What a beauty! Such a lovely and crisp striking! And the fitted case is indeed a rare plus! Does the piece have any maker's mark on the edge? This piece appears not to have been awarded, as there is nothing engraved to indicate the winner of these wargames...which would have taken place on the 'Tag der Wehrmacht' during the 1937 RPT. I assume that the 'championship' would have been awarded to all of the members of the winning team, and this may have been a spare award which was not needed that day.

Sorry but that's not a maker's mark; it's the initials of Richard Klein, the designer and sculptor of many TR badges. Prof. Klein was one of the preeminent artists and sculptors of the period, right up there with Breker, Thorak and Schmid-Ehmen. All but the 1933 RPT design are Klein's work and are marked just as this piece is; all of the national May Day/Tag der Arbeit designs are his, as well. The maker's mark would often appear around the edge of a commemorative or award disk like this one.

A very nice cased badge! I have in my collection a 35 RPT NP in gold from the Frau Winter auction in Germany of personal Hitler items in 1971. My medal once belonged to Hitler and was given to him along with one in silver by the Deschler firm and is so marked on the reverse. Both the gold and sliver medals were prototypes according to the provenance.

Br. James, the award medal was presented to the Champion (Sieger) of one of the various events held during the 1937 RPT Kampfspielen. I can't remember if the paramilitary events were held only during Tag der Wehrmacht, but each victor would have received one of such medals. I don't think the event had to be described on the medal. The particulars were described in the accompanying Urkunde. At least that was the standard procedure followed by the RFSS during the annul Police National Winter and Summer games. The Allach plates were titled "Dem Sieger", but accompanied by an Urkunde.

Erich, those prototypes of the RPT badges are stunning, but what does "NP" mean?

Thanks Joe and yes they really are special pieces. NP = non portable.

A very nicely preserved Reichs party table medal with a great condition case too. Congrats on your find.

Joe, alas I only have the gold badge and the one in silver was sold to another. To date I have not seen another non portable badge from the 1935 RPT.
