    DAF insignia

    Hi guys i was lucky to get hold of a DAF officers cap badge insignia.
    Not the silver one but the Gold one.Maby you can let me know the order of rank in he DAF in English please .Many tha Pete

            The silver hand embroidered bullion insignia (which I do not have) is for the Stosstrupp Leaders....Werkscharmeister and above.

              Mitteilungsblatt der Reichszeugmeisterei, nr.21 from October 8, 1938.

              Pages 211 and 212 give the description for the visored cap for the walking-out dress (Schirmmütze für Werkscharen, Ausgehmütze). Page 212 further mentions the regulation for wearing:
              a) visored cap when not being in service (nur ausserhalb des Dienstbetriebes);
              b) when in service of a company and when in group the field-cap was worn.

              Further:
              1) Werkscharmann through and including Rottenführer from a Stosstrupp: silver colored metal national eagle emblem and silver colored metal DAF-insignia with oak-leaf wreath and lacquered chin strap:
              2) Werkscharmann through and including Rottenführer from a Werktrupp: ibid in metal, but matt golden. The chin strap was of substitute leather;
              3) Werkscharmann with the ranks Werkscharmeister upwards from a Stosstrupp: embroidered silver colored eagle and oak-leaf wreath. Aluminum cap cords;
              4) Werkschar-leaders from a Werktrupp (Betriebsobmann, Betriebszellenobmann, Betriebsblockobmann, Walter und Warte der DAF): embroidered, but in matt golden and golden cap cords;
              5) honorary Werkschar-members: embroidered matt golden eagle and oak-leaf wreath with golden cap cords.
