    SA armband

I just got this in a grouping (The vet had sewed it together for display)
Anyway it is a weird size not as small as the printed ones and not the regular SA armband size. Also it is made of a softer material than most.

    The swastika is printed.

is this just some irregular sized one or was there a particular use fior this smaller one? In the 2nd picture it is in comparison to a full sized one.

    Thanks for your input.

It is anyone's guess what the story is with this one. My opinion would be that the roundel was salvaged from a printed armband (looks to have been cut-out with scissors)- then re-sewn to a new piece of red fabric. Perhaps the printed armband had damage to the red section, and the owner felt it was worth recycling.

      Regards,

      Kent G.

Another possibility is that the roundel was part of a small printed flag, and the owner needed an armband, so it was converted.

I get the impression its from a childs mock up uniform that were worn during the period,or possibly from a large doll of the period.

It sure is different than any I've had before. I never thought about a child's or doll's armband but that would fit with the size for sure and the rather crude look.
