    Stürmer cartoonist 'Fips' signed sketch.

I've got this on the Paper forum but I hardly get a response there.

Please comment on this original draft pencil sketch for DER GIFTPILZ (Poison Mushroom) book.

This originated from a Hitler Youth camp or hostel at lake Bodensee as a gift. They were framed before the Stürmer sent them out because there is an explanation as well as rubber stamp from the publishing house on the reverse side.

The drawing is an original draft by Philip Rupprecht,(pen name Fips), handsigned at the bottom left.

    Comments are welcome.

Very interesting! If original, it's got to be rare. Can you tell for sure it's not a litho that is pencil signed?
I can see something like this used as a display in an HJ facility more than something that an HJ member would hang on the wall in his house.

I know the book. This looks like a very rare drawing. Great! Thanks for sharing this little piece of history.

              Regards, Wim

Top one is real, done in charcoal pencil, that is why the signature is a different shade as its done with a lead pencil. If you look closely you can see pencil gestures around the charcoal, which indicates he sketched it out first in pencil, then went over it in charcoal. This would not appear on a litho.Very nice!the others{besides teh watercoulour) are all done in lead pencil it seems.Yours is nicer in charcoal.

I would like to be able to buy one of these. Are they available for sale?

These recently came out onto the market, sold by a German collector so he could buy a house. I believe they found new homes pretty quickly...they were around 4.5k euro each. The water colur was 4.6k euro.

I'll PM you if another comes up.
