Lately a lot of fake SS and Sa ausweises have been dropped on the market, although this one looks slightly better i think it may be one of those fakes. What i don't like:

    - the photo, it looks like on the fake ausweis
    - the dirt spots, particularly over the name Lutze on the front, similar to all the fake ausweis it has such a spot here
    - the colour of the paper seems off from the brown SA passes
    - the stamp running over the photo seems to run not correctly
    - the two "rings" impressions of the photo on the second page seem like rusted rings from an old storage, but the rings on the pass are not rusted and overal the pass just lacks age
    - the rings have in the first photo a yellow centre, in the second a white one, different passes? too many fakes?
    - the impression of the photo on the second page seems different than the photo on the left

Just a few points of concern, but i would not buy this one based on these pics...

Just a couple of questions for those more experienced than I am: since the photo attached to this Ausweis shows a man wearing an SS uniform, is it likely that he would have joined the SA, as well? While we occasionally notice that men who originally joined the SA moved on to the SS -- excepting those who held high and honorary rank in both organizations -- does this document seem to indicate that? Also, the man in the photo appears to be wearing an NSDAP Membership Pin on his necktie, though he has not listed his Party number and entry date in the document section that requires that information.

          Hi Br. James,

Not sure what this document tries to indicate but you are right with the SS photo being strange here, another thing that is a red flag on this pass. The other things being off are just other faults on this pass.

Tomorrow is the Ciney fair, unfortunately i can't go, but i remember the last fair six months ago there were two guys selling all these fake passes that pop up lately everywhere on the online auction sites. They had even displayed many of them on the ground (imagine "real" Auschwitz and other camp and SS passes, the rarest of the rare, and then a few dozen for sale....) and all with the same characteristics. All fake passes have been made in the same style and with the same funky looking pictures and fake age-marks. They are improving though and we can only hope they don't perfect their skills in the nearby future. Buying SS membership passes has already become a very dangerous thing and many collectors have been fooled already. So far collecting paperwork was safe, but those days are now also in the past.

The information on the card is on its own dubious.
The man in the photo has dark hair and the description states blond.
States he only joined the SA in late 1934, isnt that an early SS photo? Meaning he left the SS to join the SA after the Rohm purge, doubtful.
            Job description/occupation states Arbeiter? Worker?

                Agreed!
Additionally, the stamp doesn't match the unit info, color of the Ausweis appears incorrect, no signatures anywhere.
