I got a chance to pick through a lot of cloth items - most looked good, and much of it had damage from being roughly stored.
This Tyr Rune tab struck me as possibly original for a few reasons - the carmine badge cloth, where repros almost always have a scarlet or red backing. Also, the quality of the hand embroidery. The red silk embroidery has washed out, but there is still some color there. The workmanship looks beyond the 12 year old workers in Pakistan.
Possible red flags - I don't like the glue, but it is hard to assess, as it has turned to powder from being wet. The tab is fairly thick, as many repros tend to be (but there is a lot of heavy embroidery that would also be pretty thick on the back). Also, I am not a big believer that everything TR era has to be in pitiful condition - which fakers seem to be obsessed about.
There was another single tab in the lot that I had 50/50 doubts about.
Without a UV light on me, I passed that one up. This tab turned out to be absolutely dead under a strong UV light.
