I like it too. It has honest wear to it, which exudes life and action. Not only does the sweatband express wear, but I particularly like the leather chinstrap -- the wear it shows to one side over the other tells of countless occasions when this kepi was worn in parades...and probably street and bar fights, too...in the years 1933-34. Very nice!

Agree--nice early one with the colored band applied later per regulation change. Looks like the worn side of the chin-strap was a replacement, as it's much thicker than a normal strap.

Notice the use of a colored band that is NOT wool, or at least the type of wool normally used. An interesting variation!!
