    NSDAP ribbon bar ..

I've this on hold for a member.

He has concerns about the blue ribbon.
It has small thin black stripes, while it should have not ?

NSDAP isn't my field, hence the question.
I personally think that the ribbon bar is ok.

Are these black stripes woven into the ribbon or have they been drawn on?
Does the black stripe continue underneath the device?

I have never seen this before but the ribbon bar itself, ribbons, devices and hardware all look period to me.

    Kind regards
    Pierce

Then I think you have quite a unique ribbon bar.

If you add the black stripe to the white stripe you have the correct width of what one stripe should be, though there are variations of width on many different examples.

The stripes should be neither black or white, but silver- made with the combined white and black thread.

        Kind regards
        Pierce

Here is an example from my collection. Note the combined colour on the stripes on the 15 year ribbon.

          Kind regards

I think it's a good bar, but I've no clue about the meaning of the variations, I've seen other variations as well ..

Stripes are odd widths, but the "black" looks like oxidized silver.

                I agree to this.

The loom mechanism, may not have been set up correctly in the weaving process, resulting in this anomaly...

Like Pierce has stated the devices look ok.

The blue ribbon fabric to me looks like it could be synthetic though... It does not look like silk. But maybes someone else can verify the fabric a bit better. That is just my personal thought.

I took a better look in the light, tried a few angles and discovered that it is silver thread, oxidized ..

Look at the center of the pic .., in fact it is also visible in the other pics, but it's only that area ..

The blue ribbon is silk, no doubt ..
