SS Parade Snare Drum? You be the judge!

I'd like first impressions on this snare drum. I am under the understanding that HJ drums came in red, blue, etc. but NOT black. Would that mean this is an SS drum? I know nothing about these and couldn't dig up too much info. Hopefully more pics to follow soon.

If it's full sized rather than a DJ smaller sized version, it could have been used by the SA, or, more likely, a civilian band, especially if the heads of the tightening screws are square rather than triangular. These drums are still in use today at Weinfests, Bierfests, etc. Are the rims metal covered or exposed wood? I can't tell from the photos.
