Startet to collect AH Silver , ned Help

Hallo everbody

At forst my englisch is not good and i hop every bod can read this.
I em collecting sens 7 yes ww2 idams.
I have they luck to work in old Hold Hauses in Bavaria and tray to get es mach idams es i can.
No i had a good deal with an old guy who woht in the Wehrmacht.
I bot a lot of stuffe from him.
Now i got from him AH Formal Pattern Spoon.
He told my the stoll it in Berlin.
No i now that i won't to collect this idams.
I never nodes how nice they are till i hade the in the hand.

Ohn woth do i have to look to buy real idams?
Ware do you guys buy you stuffe?
Can you post maybe a fake idams?
Can you help my?

Hi Fredy,

To begin with, your English is MUCH better than my German, so no worries, mate! As Mametz said, there are many dealers which occasionally include AH pattern silver, both the formal and informal design as well as other patterns; here are three well-established US dealers that I have used over the years for collecting AH flatware:

Wittmann Antique Militaria
Johnson Reference Books and Militaria
Brent's Antiques

You can do a Google search for their internet sites.

Wittmann has the most original pieces that I have seen as of late but his prices are on the top end. With that being said, prices on the formal pieces have gone sky high in the last 5 years or so.

Erich is certainly right on the money there! When I started collecting AH silverware more than 20 years ago -- and I only collect the "informal pattern" -- the problem used to be locating examples. (The informal pattern is rarer than the formal pattern, as you know, so most collectors probably collect the formal pattern...which decreases the supply on the market and pushes the price up.) Nowadays the informal pattern is still rare, but when found, the cost is prohibitive.

Erichs are you collecting idams form coburg? I life Bin Bad Staffelstein it is 10 Min drive from Coburg. Coburg is a Very Nice and old Town.

I am not shut on woth i have to looke that i don't buy Fakes.
I never bought sousing from a dealer, normal Militaria i can find on old hauses in bavaria.
Today i woth on Wittmanns seit , he looks leik a nice guy to hang auth and have a bier.

Hi Fredy, yes I collect items related to the Battle of Coburg. When I was in Bavaria I was unable to stop in Coburg which I regret.


As far as AH silverware, I only have five pieces of the formal pattern along with a napkin. Best, Erich

Freddy, not impossible but getting harder as each day passes.
Dealer Bill Shea had the last large hoard of silverware from a vet a year or so ago and it sold out very quickly!

I am with my Girl Friend Camping on the beach , it is very nice.
The museums and the us Memorial are very very nice to look.
