Badge
Is it just me or does "NURNBERG" look a little funky? The letters look to be all different sizes. The "U" is crooked the "G" doesn't curl in straight, the "B" is rounded at the top as opposed to straight and flat. Maybe its the angle i'm looking at it, but I have four of them, three marked all differentley and one not marked at all, and when I look at them I don't see near the mistakes I see here. Just thought you might want to look at that closer. Thanks Tim

Like Mil, I was put off by the pin setup but I wanted to see what others thought before chiming in. That sort of pin and retainer with the movable circular catch reminds me of some of the cheap dime-store costume jewelry that I used to see in department stores in the 1950s and '60s. Whenever I see that sort of setup on a TR badge it always gives me second thoughts.

This is I think an odd, albeit interesting badge and even when putting to one side the strange pin arrangement and the strange khaki colouring.
I for one would like to see a direct on image in natural light.
The solid back badges are of course well faked in both "silver" and "bronze" and where a casting technique is used. Try as I may, I cannot see any evidence of casting to the badge which started the thread. Also, the design detail appears quite different from a cast fake that I hold. Quite plausible though that there should be more than one fake by the design detail.
I actually think that the detail is quite fine on the badge shown, however never before have I seen such eagle talon detail and also, the timid and in parts almost erratic fonts (to Nürnberg in particular) are very distinct.
Again, really would like to see a direct on image in natural light.

Hola David,
Thank you very much for your reply. Now, some images in natural light, (not much light, here it's raining).
All the best
Jose Luis
