    Bizarre HJ Pic.

I came across this bizarre and strange HJ picture.
    Never seen such before.

My main collecting field is Luft, this was offered along some Luft pics...

Some opinions please from HJ collectors.

Not sure what you find so "bizarre and strange" about this photo; please say more. It appears to be the waking prior to burial of a HJ boy in the chapel of a church -- not sure whether Roman Catholic or Lutheran. The altar bears as a frontal the banner of the HJ and the body is covered with a similar one. As the HJ is not a major interest of mine, I do not recognize whether the deceased boy is wearing an HJ uniform or not. But to my knowledge, the HJ/DJ/BDM, like the SA, was never banned from the church or its services.

I agree with the post above. A simple funeral wake for a D.J. member. They are wearing the D.J. Winterbluse and one is positively wearing a Sigrune belt buckle.

I think funeral pictures where more normal in those days as now. I have seen old funeral picturers with the family by the body, something we don't do anymore now.

Not uncommon to see an open coffin.
The dead boy is wearing the regular DJ uniform as from about 1933 with the black field cap,
which is a little bit strangely positioned.
