This is what Marine-SA blue should look like. Formerly owned by Mr Benndorff.

And once again teh blk/white piping on the brownshirt. This totally differs from what all teh books say,as I previously stated, as it is said after the bi-color piping of the home group,blue/white piping was worn, this is too obviously blk/white the dk blue tint is just teh camera am I right Mike?Again EVERY SA marine brownshirt during the main part of its existence had blk/white piping NOT blue/white as books say.Anyome have anything else on this? I can back this with many examples also thru photos in collections, examples etc.Indeed soem may say its a VERY Dark blue,NOT teh case teh pipings are BLACK as teh ace of spades in every example Ive seen.Erich do you have anything on this?Does your marine tunic have piping?Im curious if its black/white also,or blue/white which Ive never seen.

The piping on my shirt is definitely black/white. No hint of blue on my monitor.

              Piping

I do not refute the assertion that Marine-SA piping was blk/wht. However, using the Collector's Guild set as an example could be problematic. There's no way possible to tell from that photo whether it's black or navy blue. In the photo even the tabs look black. There's no description of the color in the text. I agree that the shoulderboard and collar piping are MOST LIKELY white/black, but it'd be interesting to confirm it really is.

Without my books to hand i think Marine SA between 1930 and 1934 wore the same piping etc as theyre home Gruppe,1934 onwards blue n white piping, the shirt above is pre 34 if original, sean

Yes but I doubt every SA marine shirt Ive seen belonged to Berlin/Brandenburg or Nederrhein.

Marinestandarte 7 was located at Darmstadt first and later at Mannheim, in the Kurpfalz-district.

ok then so it shouldnt be blk/white is that what your saying?then that would further solidify my theory that blk/white is correct on all these.Or were the districts previous found in Berlin/Nederrhein?

This is an interesting wehrpass photo for Josef Maier, an enlistee in Panzerjager Regt 35. I'm not very good at interpreting these documents, but his active service appears to commence in Sept 1938 and the entries cease on 1 Jan 1940. However there's a rubber stamp on page 7 dated March 1945.

I reckon his piping is blue/white. Strangely, his shirt collar tabs seem to be blank.

Erich B. identified the unit but I've lost the info.

I hope this photo adds something worthwhile to the piping debate.
