    SA Brown Shirt Opinions

    Hi all,

What are the opinions on this SA Brown Shirt with green tabs? It looks in a slight nasty condition but does it look real? What do you all think?

IMO, the shoulderboard is original. (The shoulderboard button should be smooth, not pebbled. Can't tell from the photo.) You'd need closeup pics of the collar piping, but it may be OK. Closeups of the tabs would help. Assuming the shoulderboard button is smooth, all the regulations line up and are correct for SA Gruppe Nordmark.

pS: Even if all the parts are original, so many SA brownshirts are post-war assembled, you gotta look really close to find out if the entire shirt is original, and not tampered with. NOTE: The bi-color collar piping is always the bugaboo for post-war assemblers. It's very rare, so if it's authentic, that's a good sign that other parts are original. Fakers ARE getting better at reproducing this piping, so buyer beware.
