early(1924) SS/political Armbandfor Staffelfuehrer

Hi collector friends,
i wanted to show you a armband which is not so often seen. I think its an original.
Its a very early SS armband which was formed in the 1924. During this time, they used the white stripe system :
red armband ( just like the NSDAP) no stripe : normal SS Mann
" " 1 white stripe: Staffelfuehrer
2 white stripes: Oberfuehrer
3 white stripes: Reichsfuehrer
These were used untill 1930 and the collar tabs were insteaded.

Hmmm, you sure about the 1924 date? The party was banned in 1923 and didn't reform until 1925.

Hi Erich,
I checked in Wikip, they say that a special armband was introduced in that time for the political organisations. Maybe I misinterpreted this. but for shure the armband was not to be used after 1930.
I am always opne for any help..

The problem with these striped armbands is to verify, by materials and construction, that they are period. They were used during the early days of the party and so are not made the same way or of the same materials as the later standardized bands.
Further complicating matters is that there were a large number of the striped armbands reproduced and sold on ebay prior to the militaria restrictions being enacted. The photos in the Angolia NSDAP/SA book show the proportions of these were often different than the later armbands, for example.

This is an early party leader armband. They have been heavily faked in high quality.
