A beautiful cased table medallion commemorating the inauguration ceremony of the reconstruction of the Ludwig Bridge over the Isar River which took place as part of the 8/9 November Observance of the "Martyrs of the Movement" in Munich in 1935. The confrontation between the revolutionary marchers of the Beer Hall Putsch and a small detachment of the Bavarian State Police at the Ludwig Bridge took place shortly after the march began just after Noon on November 9, 1923, though the police were convinced by Hermann Göring to allow the marchers to pass over the bridge and enter the downtown section of the city.

A fine piece, the like of which I have never seen before.
