I agree about the cap. Let's see if "Kurt Meyer" comments here, he has a large collection of HJ winter caps.

I agree as well--the ones with the rubber trim are all postwar.

Authentic HJ winter uniform caps are scarce, simply because the former HJ members simply removed the insignia and continued to wear them after the war.

I have to disagree on this one.
I had a few pictures of non RZM caps with rubber but I lost it because of a computer faillure.
I only have this picture of a RZM cap with rubber band ( wich also is unusual.)
And on the next 2 pictures you see other models beïng worn besides the RZM caps.

                Kurt,

We are talking about the cap in the link... And IMO it is not a period cap...

                Very interessting period pic !

IMO a non regulation "ski-cap" on the period pic, but never the less, if ever a should find such a cap at a show... would never spend the money... too bad "reputation"

Same opinion about the HJ scarf...

                  Pascal,

I'm sorry I was reading your reply wrong :

I thought you ment all caps with rubber band.

And I agree on you. ( And on the scarf )
If I find a cap like the boy with the squared buckled cap I would'nt buy it.
However my last purchase has a squared leather buckle but it's a 100% RZM cap

I would like to see the inner part of the cap how it looks like.

I thought I recalled seeing you show the photo of the cap with the leather around the bill before Michael. Great photo, but as Pascal says I would pass if one were offered due to having to defend it forever.

I agree accept if it was a RZM cap with a rubber band, then I would consider to buy it. JMO.

Now having read through the threads, I believe the cap is post-war...it does not have the attributes discussed other then a paper label under clear celluloid Again, I will post later for discussion.

Nice pic, Kurt--first I have seen of an HJ wearing trim around the bill.
Unfortunately, these civil black ski caps were mass produced both duing and after the war, and many unscrupulous sellers added HJ diamonds to them. While there may be authentic examples around, without rock-solid provenance, you will never be able to sell one of these non-RZM ski caps as an original.
