originals show an intensive printing bleed-through on the reverse fabric because of the thin matreial that was used.

                Regards, Wim

Hi I agree that being a fake, look at the one on sale in the collector guild.

                    Hi,

Unfortunately I have to agree with previous members comments here.
I have an original armband in hand as I write to you.
Although I believe that several printed versions of this band exist, the one you have may well be a fake.
In particular, the "Shoulders" of the eagle are way to long, whilst the lettering of the armband are "good".
No "bleed" through has occured on my example, but the stitching to the top and bottom of the band also seems wrong - most examples having straight stitch rather than a staggered machine stitch.
I obtained my example from a vet in Germany, the original hand stitched tacking stitches still remain on the band.
I think this may be a post-war copy - how sad is this for our hobby that items like this may now be faked and sold on?
Makes you want to forget about this area area of collecting and move on to something safer!
