Some more to start us of with
Interesting a little note came with the lot gifting the badges to a family member from what appears to be the vets widow/family.

Jon, again a great find and what looks to be a totally mint badge. Glad it made it to the UK safely!

I would not put up with this Jon. I think you should return the lot and get a refund back on your card. If you'd like to send the lot to me, I'll take care of everything.

          Jon,
What a great find! I wish you had a feather somewhere and I owned the badge, we both would be tickled pink. Really congrats! I too believe what you said about most museums, private collectors take better care of the items.

Guys, there appears to be a small object similar in size to the DAf pin underneath the GPB in this pic, what do you think?
Second thought,no its too small and might just be the photo not actually any kind of item.

Jon, I would think that your gold DAF pin would be like the SS-ZA and other types of membership pins for wear with civilian clothes. I would search for photos of other senior DAF members like Ley to see if you can see such a pin.

That's why it's so great to have something from a TR icon: Never a dull moment, there is always something else to be had !

                    Gauleiter Fritz Sauckel
                    - a Golden HJ Honour Badge with oak leaf border and transmittal letter.
The two-section badge made from gold with an inset enamelled HJ emblem, reverse pin attachment and "585" mark of fineness. The transmittal letter from Baldur von Schirach is included with the following excerpted text (tr) "I send you as a replacement for the lost Golden Honour Badge of the HJ the same in real gold issue" and "...you will find enclosed two leather writing folders, which you can award to two deserving HJ leaders in your district leadership". Included is one of the folders sent by von Schirach (which apparently was not presented to a deserving HJ Leader). Also, a photo postcard signed by von Schirach with a transmittal letter to
Sauckel's son (tr) "To DJ comrade Erich Adolf Sauckel" and an artist's folder with wood binding (tr) "Adolf Hitler - watercolours", likewise with a transmittal letter to Erich Adolf Sauckel (Fritz Sauckel's son was killed in action on the Eastern front in 1944 as an air-to-ground support flyer) (tr) "...dear young comrade, I send you these pages for Julfest 1937" with original signature "von Schirach". Also cf. auction 58, lot number 3152, the award document to Fritz Sauckel.
                    Condition: II
