Faithful Service Cross with Oakleaves on ribbon

Please help me with this award

C Ailsby describes this medal in "WW2 German medals and political awards."
It is 40-year medal with 50 years of oak leaves, instituted by Hitler 12.08.1944.
Is it for real ?

I bought one for a few months ago, but is very uncertain regarding authenticity. Medal and oakleaves are both original, but do they belong together? This is exactly the same type located on the the medal for Heer 40years Service Medal with Oakleaves

Hi,

I don't think this is a good combination.

From memory this combination was late war indeed proposed but never taken into actual production or awarding. If remembering correct i think Chris mentions it shortly as an award that was proposed but not actually awarded?

I haven't got my books here and can't check things, but i think the oaks (if real ones as they are faked too i believe) come from the highest class of the long service awards and are just mounted on this ribbon of a 40 year cross.

The Oaks are the same type as on the Heer 40 years Service Medal with Oakleaves, so it can be that you are right. Both Oaks are original, but that is no guarantee it belongs to the medal of course.
